Thank you for standing with us in this campaign to keep this south Texas’ 34th congressional district out of the hands of a Republican. There isn’t much time between now and the runoff Election on July 31st but one thing is for certain: at stake is how we’ll be remembered.

We’ll either be the Democratic Party that nominates the first Republican in a Democratic Primary in south Texas or the Democratic Party that is going to send a proven Democrat and the first Texas Latina to Congress.

 

I was born and raised in Brownsville and have spent over 20 years working with local communities to foster positive business development and economic growth. I want to take south Texas to Washington to be a fresh voice in Congress that has a clear vision for making progress for the people of south Texas.

 

I know I’m not the only Democrat who knows that Republican Filemon Vela is trying to swoop in here, use his wealth to try and buy a seat in Congress by stealing a seat away from Democrats.

 

So I’m asking the entire Democratic family to stand together on this one and make history on Election Night by choosing someone they can be proud of. I can promise you I’ll do the peoples work in Congress by creating jobs by helping small businesses start hiring again since that’s what I’ve done for the past 20 years. I’m a proven job creator and problem solver who was born and raised right here in the heart of this district.

 

I will fight to protect Social Security and Medicare, be an advocate for equal rights for all citizens, a fervent fighter for a higher quality public education for our children and work around the clock for the betterment of Texas' working families.

 

I share your frustration with the habitual political corruption in south Texas politics. When elected, I will work with local prosecutors to ensure they have the tools they need to bring about justice in our fight for a clean government.

 

That’s why I’m not going to lay down to Filemon Vela or his fellow Republican friends. I’m going to fight tooth and nail to stop Filemon Vela from stealing this election away from south Texas Democrats. With your continued support, we will stop Vela and his cronies while making history on Election Night.
